Help for Genealogists and researchers of family history. It is important to study the old wills and estates of your ancestors in order to find heirs and kin, occupation, place of origin, acreage, plantations, friends, and place in the community. Digitized images of old Virginia Wills, estates and marriages. Because the colony was established in the earliest part of the 1600s, the collection equates to 400 years! Anyone doing genealogical research in the Virginia records is aware of how extensive the work is. One of the factors is that all of the original will books kept by the clerk of each county is housed at the Virginia State Library. Faded ink, water damage, age and the size of these books is problematical. The images are PDF format with the magnification feature.
