King George

Names of Families in King George County Records

King George County was formed in 1720; taken from part of Richmond County. It was named for King George I of England. The boundaries were from Richmond County to Fauquier County, and had no contact with the Potomac River until the boundaries were changed in 1776, to run from Westmoreland to Stafford.
